You might decide to uninstall a software application from your computer if it is no longer used and if it requires too much storage space. Only by properly uninstalling a program can all its components be removed. In order to uninstall a piece of software from your computer you need to be the local administrator or have local administrative rights.
Go to Start|Control Panel|Add or Remove Programs and choose Change or Remove Programs. A list with all the software applications installed on your computer is displayed. Select the software you want to uninstall, click Remove and follow the steps indicated.
Why is this information important for translators and translation teachers?
Very often, translators need to have specific software applications uninstalled from their computers, e.g. when a specific application has only been installed and used for one particular translation project.
