Teaching Scenarios
In this section, we describe several teaching scenarios for simulating different types of translation workflows with CAT tools mimicking professional contexts.
These scenarios represent suggestions as to how to combine elements from the four types of guidelines eCoLoTrain created. It is up to the teacher to further develop and customise these, or other, scenarios to best fit in their classes.
Structure
The integrated scenarios and their contents are:
- Translation Workflow 1 (Terminology and Translation Memory):
Work with at least one terminology management tool and one translation memory tool.
- Translation Workflow 2 (Terminology, Translation Memory and Project Management Basics):
Work with at least one terminology management and translation memory tool and general spreadsheet software (such as MS Excel).
- Translation Workflow 3 (Terminology, Translation Memory and Project Management):
Work with at least one terminology management tool, one translation memory tool, and one project management tool.
- Translation Workflow 4 (Terminology, Translation Memory and Software Localisation):
Work with at least one terminology management tool, one translation memory tool, and one software localisation tool.
- Translation Workflow 5 (Terminology, Translation Memory, Project Management and Software Localisation):
Work with at least one terminology management tool, one project management and one software localisation tool.
