This section presents an example curriculum for translator training based on a four-year plan. It aims to give an idea of the point in translation studies at which the courses on translation technology should take place and how the different modules can follow each other to form a logical series.
The following table concentrates on the subjects and courses covered by eCoLoTrain. Other courses (e.g. linguistic competence, regional studies, translation courses not integrating the use of tools) will not be considered.
In a four-year plan, the first three semesters will usually be dedicated to providing the basic language and translation competence. Our example suggests starting the teaching of translation technology courses in the 4th semester, once students already command basic translation skills.
