If you forgot where you stored a particular file or folder but you still remember its name, you can easily search for it by right-clicking on Start and selecting the Search option. A window appears where you can look for your file or folder by inserting search criteria such as name, date, size, etc. and even the directory or subdirectory where you want the search to be performed.
Alternatively, you can perform this search by going to Windows Explorer or My Computer and click Search on the toolbar. The window splits into two and, on the left hand side, you can enter your chosen search criteria.
It is also possible to launch a search from any folder in the Windows Explorer by just selecting the folder, right-clicking with the mouse and selecting Search from the pop-up menu. Thereby you can search for all files contained in that particular folder.
