There are two types of terminology management tools:
- Stand-alone terminology management tools, which might also be components of Translation Memory tools (but can be used independently of the Translation Memory Tools), e.g. TRADOS MultiTerm, TermStar
- Terminology management components, which are integrated in the Translation Memory tool and cannot be used as stand-alone system, e.g. Déjà Vu X
