Results of the "Needs Analysis" conducted in 2006

In this section you will find information on the results of the “Needs Analysis”, a questionnaire drawn up at the start of the eCoLoTrain project to identify the needs of translator trainers regarding ICT in general and CAT tools in particular.

The survey was conducted from January to March 2006, and the questionnaire was made available to a total of about 250 teaching institutions and professional associations worldwide.

Only 86 responses were received, but as all questionnaires were filled in completely, we still feel that the results are representative. Most responses were received from Europe; there were, however, also 4 respondents from South America and 2 from Asia. Among the European respondents, 19 (22.1%) were from Germany, followed by 11 (12.8%) from United Kingdom and 13 (15.1%) from "Other European Country". The latter category includes non-EU countries within Europe, e.g. Romania, where the University of Iaşi is a project partner.
