It is useful to know how to insert page numbers, particularly when printing Excel worksheets.
- Select the worksheet or worksheets on which you want to have page numbers.
- From the View menu, choose Header and Footer|Custom Header or Custom Footer.
- Specify the location for the number by clicking inside one of the boxes Left section, Centre section or Right section.
- Finally, click the page number icon and OK.
- To set "1" as the number of the first page, go to the Page Setup dialogue box.
- Select the Page tab and type "1" in the First page number box.
- In the Page Setup dialogue box you will see the preview of your header and footer. This preview feature may also be useful when translating headers and footers of worksheets.
