Once the client has accepted your quote and schedule, you can launch the project. This means assigning translators / proofreaders / technical specialists and preparing the files you will use in the translation process (extraction, conversion, alignment, translation memories, dictionaries, etc).
At this stage, the project manager will produce a style guide, in the case the client has not already provided one. A style guide which can include instructions or choices as regards punctuation, UNICODE/ASCII codes, branding, spelling, adaptations terminological choices, controlled languages or other client preferences. The project manager will also produce a source text analysis which will include things like translation brief or client's specifications, context, genre and register, text function and text type. Make sure this information is presented in a clear style! This is an eCoLoRe example of a simple source text analysis.
In LTC, you can create a new project from the Quotation Management module, if you have not already created one in the Project Management module. In your designated folder, LTC automatically creates a folder structure which is mirrored in the Project Management window.
It is at this point that the project manager will send the purchase orders to the suppliers. LTC offers a predefined template which includes a description of all the tasks with their corresponding prices.
