Terminology 3

Maintaining (5/6)

Maintaining Terminology Databases (TDB) implies tasks such as adding, deleting, modifying, and updating existing terminological data.

Depending on the type of data to be modified, certain tasks are possible while others are not, for example:

  • languages can be added but not deleted
  • fields can be added but not changed
  • new fields can be added to the entry structure

Maintaining TDBs is a way to ensure that the information stored is coherent and up-to-date, that is to say that there are no duplicate terms or incomplete / incorrect entries.
