About this course
This course aims to enhance your practical knowledge of features of TMs such as the analysis and statistics functions, as well as the alignment process. It targets professional translators as well as translation and CAT (Computer-aided Translation) tools teachers who want to learn more about Translation Memory tools and/or use these materials in their work.
By the end of this course, you should know how and why to carry out an analysis of texts to be translated, appreciate the relevance of statistics, know how to differentiate between internal and external repetitions, be aware of types of matches you can encounter in your texts when using a TM, and understand how TMs segment texts.
For TM Course 3 we assume that you have the basic theoretical and practical knowledge of Translation Memory tools covered in TM courses 1 and 2.
Course Structure
Analysis and Statistics
The first section deals with the TM functionalities Analysis and Statistics and includes the following topics:

Alignment
The second section is devoted to the process of Alignment and covers:
