Translation Memories 4 - Translating with a TM

About this course

This course aims to enhance your practical knowledge of translation memories by offering you an overview of the translation workflow using Translation Memory tools. It targets professional translators as well as translation and CAT (Computer-aided Translation) tools teachers who want to learn more about Translation Memory tools and/or use these materials in their work.

By the end of this course you should have acquired a practical knowledge of the steps that are part of the translation workflow with TMs (creating pseudo-translations, pre-translations and concordances, among others); of searching for previous translations; of the possibilities for updating TMs while translating (such as by adding new translation units, editing or deleting translation units or importing an existing TM); of preparing tagged texts to be translated; and of ensuring the quality of translations is good (quality assurance).

As a prerequisite for the following course, you need to have completed the previous three TM courses offered on the project web page or have intermediate knowledge of Translation Memory tools in general.
